JU Organises Nrityanjali By Kathak Dancer, Manju Wazir | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 10: Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu taking forward the online literary and cultural bonanza for the JU fraternity organized Nrityanjali +by renowned Kathak dancer, Mrs. Manju Wazir, the daughter of the soil and DYT alumnus of the university. Besides, Krishan Bhajan and Shingar Ras, in her Dance Fusion Mrs. Manju Wazir, disciple of Pt. Durga Lalji and Sh. Munna Lal Shuklaji, gave an awesome performance on Lata Mangeshkar’s Dogri song “Udoonu rangi de lalariya” mixing it with Kathak steps. Her scintillating hav, bhav and mudra performance was highly applauded by the audience. Prof. Manoj K. Dhar, Vice Chancellor was the chief guest and expressed happiness that the alumni of Jammu University have created a unique place for themselves at the national and international forum, bringing laurels both to J&K UT and the university. He congratulated Prof. Jasbir Singh and his team for reenergizing JU fraternity through a variety of activities during COVID 19 time Prof. Jasbir Singh, Dean, Students Welfare presented the welcome address and introduced Mrs. Manju Wazir to the audience. Currently, Mrs. Manju Wazir is based in Delhi and teaches in Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Gaziabad. She is also giving training in Kathak and fusion for which she has claimed a place for herself on the dance stage. The dance performance was witnessed by the faculty, officers, staff, students, scholars, alumni of JU and members of the civil society. Prof. Samridhi Arora, co-chairperson, CCC presented the vote of thanks. |
