COVID-19 recovery rate reaches 88% in JK; 697 new cases, eight fresh deaths

SRINAGAR, Oct 16: The COVID-19 recovery rate in Jammu & Kashmir reached 88 percent after 838 virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The positive cases reached 86,754 with 697 cases being reported today and the death toll reached 1,366 following eight fresh deaths.
Srinagar district reported 155 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Jammu district 121 cases, Anantnag district 45 cases, Poonch district 44 cases, Baramulla district 40 cases, Kupwara district 33 cases, Kishtwar district 31 cases, Doda district 30 cases, Budgam district 28 cases, Ganderbal district 23 cases, Bandipora, Kulgam and Rajouri districts 21 cases each, Reasi district 20 cases, Pulwama and Samba districts 19 cases each, Kathua district 14 cases, Ramban district eight cases and Udhampur district four cases.
Jammu district reported four fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar, Baramulla, Kupwara and Reasi districts. So far 916 Corona Virus deaths have occurred in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division 450 people have died due to the virus.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 697 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 312 from Jammu division and 385 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 86,754. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; five from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division.
Moreover, 838 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 381 from Jammu Division and 457 from Kashmir Division. Out of 86,754 positive cases, 8,909 are active positive, 76,479 have recovered and 1,366 have died; 450 in Jammu division and 916 in Kashmir division.
Out of 19, 52,850 test results available, 18, 66,096 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 23,633 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24,165 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 8,909 in isolation and 50,768 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 38,425 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 17,401 positive cases, 1,820 active positive, 15,253 recovered, 328 deaths; Budgam has 5,582 positive cases, 500 active positive, 4,992 recovered, 90 deaths; Baramulla has 5,105 positive cases, 1,277 active positive, 3,694 recovered, 134 deaths; Pulwama has 4,370 positive cases, 276 active positive, 4,019 recovered, 75 deaths; Kupwara has 4,019 positive cases, 264 active positive, 3,684 recovered, 71 deaths. “Anantnag has 3,905 positive cases, 319 active positive, 3,516 recovered, 70 deaths; Bandipora has 3,795 positive cases, 291 active positive, 3,462 recovered, 42 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,277 positive cases, 270 active positive, 2,977 recovered, 30 deaths; Kulgam has 2,382 positive cases, 95 active positive, 2,244 recovered, 43 deaths and Shopian has 2,112 positive cases, 97 active positive, 1,982 recovered, 33 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 15,871 positive cases, 1,184 active positive, 14,451 recovered, 236 deaths; Rajouri has 3,095 positive cases, 412 active positive, 2,638 recovered, 45 deaths; Udhampur has 2,551 positive cases, 151 active positive, 2,375 recovered, 25 deaths; Doda has 2,473 positive cases, 318 active positive, 2,115 recovered, 40 deaths; Kathua has 2,318 positive cases, 62 active positive, 2,227 recovered, 29 deaths. “Poonch has 2,114 positive cases, 675 active positive, 1,417 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,053 positive cases, 417 active positive, 1,612 recovered, 24 deaths; Kishtwar…
