Jammu, Oct 16: Drones are being used for the real-time monitoring of the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage route in Jammu and Kashmir during Navratri festival. The security measures have been beefed up in view of the terror inputs of Pakistan-based terrorist planning to target Hindu dominated areas emerging. Keeping in view intelligence inputs that terrorists are planning to strike the Hindu dominated area so that they can cause a communal clash, the security agencies are taking no chance this time during Navratri. The security agencies are using drones to keep an eye on each and every movement, Times Now’s Pradeep Dutta reports. The security forces have intercepted a communication between the terrorist commanders and their mentors and they are planning to target specific areas as they want to scuttle peace in the Union Territory. The temple which remained shut since the first day of the lockdown induced by the coronavirus pandemic in the last week of March this year reopened on August 16. It allowed as many as 5000 devotees a day, but now, the board has enhanced the limit of pilgrims to 7000. “Pony, Pithu and Palki services have resumed, while helicopter and battery car services are also operational. Devotees coming from outside Jammu and Kashmir need valid Covid-19 negative test report. We have Covid-19 testing facility here too,” said CEO Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, Jammu The holy cave of Mata Vaishno Devi is situated at an altitude of 5200 ft and about 12 kilometres away from the base camp in Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. |
