Health Dept expedites COVID testing of general public in Poonch | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, Oct 16: The Health Department Poonch has expedited the campaign of conducting COVID-19 testing across the district in order to curb the virus. In this connection, it has been conducting COVID tests of shopkeepers for the last many days, where the general public visits most of the time for making purchases of things of daily needs. As per reports, on October 14, the testing of shopkeepers was done wherein 23 persons were found positive, similarly on October 15 around 44 people were test positive. While talking to Early Times, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch said that all required arrangements are being made to conduct testing as per the direction from Director Health Services Jammu. “We have organised camps for testing at border points of the district including Beeji, Karishan chader Parkh, Mendhar etc. and also created awareness among the people for participating in testing,” they said. He appealed to the general public to come for testing voluntarily along with children so that spread of the virus can be curbed. “We have made special arrangements for aged people, who cannot travel to hospitals or at testing camps and for that a team will be sent at their door steps for the testing,” CMO Poonch informed
