Ladakh remarks effect: New Delhi to clip Abdullah’s wings! | NC patron may lose security | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 18: With the remarks of Member Parliament and National Conference Patron Dr Farooq Abdullah, allegedly seeking help from China for “restoration” of special status of Jammu and Kashmir having snowballed into a major controversy, New Delhi is mulling serious action against the “traitor.” Sources said the Bharatija Janta Party at the center recently held a closed-door meeting to take serious note of the remarks as made by the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources said it was only after the meeting concluded in the national capital that the BJP national spokesman Dr Sambit Patra called a press conference to condemn the “anti national utterances of the Abdullahs.” The BJP presser had termed Dr Abdullah a traitor. Sources said the government is seriously looking into stripping off or reducing the security cover to the leader who recently “expected intervention from the enemy country, which martyred 20 soldiers in Ladakh earlier their year.” Sources said there was a proposal that Abdullah be arrested for the allegedly anti-national remarks but that some of the experts suggested that putting him behind the bars would make him “hero out of nothing.” “New Delhi doesn’t want any heroes out of nothing. The best is to book him for waging war against the nation and to withdraw his security or to reduce it,” said a BJP leader on the condition of anonymity. He said the JK chapter of the BJP has already picked up the issue of Dr Abdullah with the national leadership and demanded strict action against him. It is pertinent to mention that Dr Farooq Abdullah enjoys Z Plus security cover. He caused a stir for recent remarks that Jammu and Kashmir was looking ahead for help from China for the restoration of the special status. The National Conference, however, has refuted the charges levelled against Dr Abdullah. |
