| Rajput Sabha celebrates Dussehra, performs Shastra Pooja | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct, 25: Shri Amar Kshatriya (Rajput) Sabha Jammu & Kashmir organized a function to observe "Shastra Pooja" at Sabha Bhawan Raj Tilak Road Purani Mandi Jammu. Havans were performed and Ahuties were offered to Goddesses. Due to COVID-19 Pandemic, the gathering in the function was restricted to minimum and protocols and SOPs stipulated by government were rigidly followed. Prashad was also distributed in the function.
The "Shastra Pooja" is a very old tradition. On this day, all the weapons used for the protection of the country are cleansed to make the weapons fit for use at the time of necessity. Rajput Sabha celebrated this function every year and proper "Shastra Pooja" was performed in the Sabha Bhawan.
Kr. Narayan Singh, President of the Sabha thanked all the dignitaries present on this auspicious occasion for their participation. He said that on this day all the weapons are checked and cleaned to make these fit to use for protection of the people as per old tradition.
He said that fortunately today is "Dussehra" also which marks Lord Rama's return to Ayodhya after killing the tyrannical king Ravana. |
