Stop harassing nationalist people of Jammu: UDA | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 4: United Democratic Alliance (UDA) strongly condemned the arrest of former Navy serving person, Amandeep Singh, resident of Nanak Nagar Jammu for unfurling National Flag on a government owned flat in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. In a statement issued here today, Rajiv Mahajan, Convener UDA, expressed resentment against the arrest of Amandeep Singh, a nationalist person and also an ex-serviceman for raising the National Flag. He criticized the Police Department for arresting the son of a former SHO as the family has served the Nation with great devotion and in return the Police Department harassed him unnecessarily. Mahajan mentioned that the Police Department has alleged that Amandeep Singh was arrested for violation of Covid norms. He asked the Police Department why not the action was initiated against BJP, Congress and other political leaders for holding rallies in Jammu city amid Covid pandemic. Mahajan opposed the kind of dictatorial administration people are facing in J&K today. He asserted that J&K BJP leadership assured dignified life after repealing Article 370 from the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State but on the contrary people facing serious consequences for unfurling the National Flag. Mahajan asserted that in Kashmir Valley people are opposing unfurling of National Flag but the government is providing jobs, scholarship and reservation but the people of Jammu region who gave massive mandate on the condition that the discrimination they were facing for the last 70 years will be removed but nothing has been seen on grounds. Mahajan asked BJP leadership why they have not shown their serious concern towards the arrest of a nationalist person for raising the Tricolour. He asked the Police Department to stop harassing nationalist people of Jammu region who always standby with the Constitution of India. |
