SRINAGAR, Nov 4: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 512 new cases of Corona Virus following which the total number of positive cases in the union territory reached 96,188, with nine fresh deaths the death toll reached 1,511. Srinagar district reported 135 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Jammu district 98 cases, Baramulla district 67 cases, Budgam district 35 cases, Kupwara district 32 cases, Bandipora and Kishtwar districts 18 cases each, Ganderbal and Ramban districts 16 cases each, Udhampur and Kathua districts 11 cases each, Pulwama and Doda districts 10 cases each, Rajouri district nine cases, Shopian district seven cases, Samba district six cases, Kulgam and Reasi districts four cases each, Poonch district three cases and Anantnag district two cases. Jammu district reported four fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Srinagar, Baramulla, Doda, Ramban and Kathua districts. So far 1,001 virus related deaths have occurred in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 510. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 512 new positive cases of novel Corona virus (COVID-19), 186 from Jammu division and 326 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 96,700. Also nine COVID-19 deaths have been reported; seven from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division. Moreover, 536 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 185 from Jammu Division and 351 from Kashmir Division. Out of 96,188 positive cases, 5,968 are active positive, 89,254 have recovered and 1,511 have died; 510 in Jammu division and 1001 in Kashmir division. Out of 23, 91,065 test results available, 22, 94,365 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 6, 62,751 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 16,249 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,935 in isolation and 43,999 in home surveillance. Besides, 5, 95,057 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 19,838 positive cases, 1,377 active positive, 18,094 recovered, 367 deaths; Baramulla has 6,295 positive cases, 1,357 active positive, 4,791 recovered, 147 deaths; Budgam has 6,105 positive cases, 248 active positive, 5,763 recovered, 94 deaths; Pulwama has 4,724 positive cases, 187 active positive, 4,454 recovered, 83 deaths; Kupwara has 4,550 positive cases, 414 active positive, 4,063 recovered, 73 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,268 positive cases, 173 active positive, 4,021 recovered, 74 deaths; Bandipora has 4,093 positive cases, 177 active positive, 3,870 recovered, 46 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,623 positive cases, 210 active positive, 3,379 recovered, 34 deaths; Kulgam has 2,499 positive cases, 82 active positive, 2,369 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,230 positive cases, 95 active positive, 2,100 recovered, 35 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 17,988 positive cases, 675 active positive, 17,049 recovered, 264 deaths; Rajouri has 3,223 positive cases, 68 active positive, 3,107 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,755 positive cases, 135 active positive, 2,588 recovered, 32 deaths; Doda has 2,680 positive cases, 78 active positive, 2,554 recovered, 48 deaths; Kathua has 2,479 positive cases, 53 active positive, 2,394 recovered, 32 deaths. “Poonch has 2,270 positive cases, 127 active positive, 2,121 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,193 positive cases, 234 active positive, 1,934 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 1,967 positive cases, 99 active positive, 1,853 recovered, 15 deaths; Ramban has 1,627 positive cases, 59 active positive, 1,522 recovered, 16 deaths and Reasi has 1,293 positive cases, 87 active positive, 1,198 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 96,700 positive cases in J&K, 9,877 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
