JKNPP protests against Govt’s rehabilitation policy for militants
11/5/2020 12:21:05 AM

Early Times Report

Jammu, Nov 4: Accusing the Central govt of contemplating a draconian ‘Rehabilitation Policy’ for the local militants and OGWs operating in J&K, a strong battalion of Panther activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) Chairman and Former Minister staged a thunderous protest demonstration in Jammu today.
The infuriated protestors while raising anti-government slogans torched BJP’s effigy to express their indignation against the duplicitous character of the Saffron party.
Addressing the galaxy of media, Harsh Dev Singh expressed anguish and deep shock over the trilogy of MHA, MoD and J&K administration mulling a comprehensive Rehab programme for the dreaded militants. “Are you really making a ploy to wean away the local militants and the OGWs from the menace or making an attempt to appease the secessionist forces and Kashmir centric leaders in the valley? Have previous Rehabilitation policies born fruits for you? Such programmes aimed to bring the dreaded militants into mainstream have only emboldened the subversive and ant-national elements and nothing else”, Harsh took a jibe at the BJP govt.
He said that the upcoming policy entailed amnesty from prosecution for the surrendered militants. If such militant got a job, he would not be disqualified because of his past. Such weird policy conferring immunity upon the dreaded militants would only encourage the radicalized elements to join the ranks and file of the terror outfits without any fear to cause havoc and mayhem, added Harsh. Only yesterday a youth was arrested for hoisting tricolor in Gandhi Nagar Jammu, lamented Singh. He cautioned that BJP’s new policy of premium for separatism and gallows for nationalism would cost it its postal address in Jammu region at the hustings.
Asserting that Rehab policy for militants deserved mourning rather than condemnation, Singh said that it has not only sent ripples among the meritorious and aspiring youth of J&K but also left all the patriotic sects of the society aghast. Where will nationalist youth go? What kind of regime are you running in which the highly educated unemployed youth are languishing on roads whereas terrorists and militants are doled premiums one after the other? What a shame that people who hoist National flag are put behind the bars while the anti-nationals who pick up guns are glorified and incentivised, yelled Harsh.
He further lambasted BJP for out rightly disparaging Indian brave hearts and showing empty coffers to the NoKs of martyrs and nationalist youth unlike other states. “You have no financial provision for the families of the martyrs, no salaries and wages for the underemployed, no jobs for the educated nationalist youth, no pension and social security for the widows and the old, no relief for the BPL dwellers but strangely have a Rehab schemes for the militants. When will you atone for your sins?”, Harsh asked BJP. He roared that Panthers Party would vehemently oppose, expose and depose the Saffron brigade for bringing disgrace to the nationalists besides its acts of subterfuge and treachery.
Prominent among those who spoke on the occasion included Rajesh Padgotra, Gagan Pratap, Surinder Chouhan, Rampaul Sharma, Rajesh Gondhi, Nirmal Kishore, Yashpaul Sharma, Mohinder Singh, Satvir Manhas, Kulbir Sambyal, Rashpaul Singh, Udhayveer, Gurdeep Singh Rajju, Yashpaul, Rohit Sharma, Satpaul Singh, Shiv Sharma, Kaka Rajput, Rajesh Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Ram Badyal, Rishpal, Rakesh Dubey besides others.
