UDHAMPUR, Nov 7: Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, Ashok Kumar, today convened a meeting with representatives of various National and Regional political parties of District Udhampur and discussed the issues related to District Development council elections and Panchayat and ULB by- polls . The ADDC briefed the representatives of the political parties about the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and urged them to follow the rules in letter and spirit. The representatives put forth their issues related to providing security for contesting candidates during DDC Election campaign, availability of basic minimum facilities at polling stations, electoral rolls.
The ADDC assured them that the issues will be addressed on priority in light of ECI guidelines. He said that all the arrangements have been put in place to ensure free and fair elections. Deputy District Election Officer, Dr Shavi, and other officers/officials of concerned department were also present in the meeting. |
