Jammu, Nov 7: The J&K Bharat Scouts & Guides celebrated it’s foundation day, flag day at its Gandhi Nagar Headquarters in which approximately 50 scouts & guides along with their scouts masters, guide captains & heads of various institutions participated under the able guidance of Mrs. Nasreen Khan Coordinator & State Secretary for U.T of J&K and Ladakh. Wg Cdr M.M Joshi Commissioner PR welcomed all the dignitaries, guests, scouts, guides, scouts masters, guides captains & also gave a brief on the significance of this day. He reminded everyone that it’s a day of introspection for all those connected with this movement. The programme started with All faith prayer followed by cultural items & paper reading. The programme was compared by M.Y Sheikh. On this occasion Dr. Shri Ram Memorial Awards, were presented to the Best Scout Master/Guide Captain which included Mrs. Harvinder Kaur, K.L Sharma & Mrs. Shobha Rani by the Chief Guest Mrs. Prabha Jain.
A special prize was given to Pooja Gupta of Lawrence Public School for her outstanding oratory skills. The Chief Guest blessed the Scouts & Guides, she also appreciated the steps being taken to spread the message of this noble movement to every corner of both the U.T’s of J&K and Ladakh.
She appreciated the organisation for cultivating basic values of commitment, conviction, character, courtesy & cheerfulness in the youngsters at an early stage. Prominent present on this occasion included S. Harcharan Singh, Ashok Sharma, K.L Sharma, Manjeet Kaur, Ranjana Sharma, Uma Jamwal, Miss Jyoti Verma, Neelam Gupta, Ravinder Kaur, Kanchan Sharma, Smiley Gupta, Krishna, Shaida. The vote of thanks was presented by H.L Dogra stressing upon the young scouts & guides to put in their best in the well being of the society. |
