JTC continues agitation on 40th day | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 10: The agitation launched by Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) in favour of their demands today continued for 40th day at Jagti township. According to press release, while addressing the protesters Shadi Lal Pandita said that they have been raising their genuine demands for the last over 40 days but nothing has been done by the administration so far. "Our community has been oppressed again and again. We will no longer tolerate this oppression. We will keep our community free from this oppression. We have been protesting for 40 days at Jagti township but the government is not meeting our demands yet. The government should meet our demands immediately", Pandita said. Their demands include enhancement of relief from Rs 13,000 to Rs 25,000 per family per month and one government job in each household. Members said 20,000 jobs should be given for unemployed youth of KPs, out of these 20 thousand posts 5,000 posts of class IV should be given to the unemployed youth of these families who could not send their children for higher education after matriculation. |
