SRINAGAR, Nov 13: The total number of Corona Virus positive cases in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1, 01,594 after 626 new cases were reported today. The death toll reached 1574 following eight deaths in past 24 hours. Baramulla district reported 158 fresh cases of COVID-19 followed by Srinagar district 157 cases, Jammu district 95 cases, Ganderbal district 27 cases, Kupwara district 23 cases, Budgam and Kishtwar districts 20 cases each, Udhampur district 18 cases, Anantnag district 13 cases, Bandipora and Ramban districts 12 cases each, Kathua district 11 cases, Doda, Pulwama and Rajouri districts 10 cases each, Poonch, Samba and Reasi districts seven cases each, Shopian district five cases and Kulgam district four cases. Srinagar and Udhampur districts each reported two fresh deaths of Corona Virus followed by a death each in Jammu, Ganderbal, Shopian and Doda districts. In the Kashmir valley 1,043 people have died due to the virus so far while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 531. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 626 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 197 from Jammu division and 429 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 01,594. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; four from Jammu division and four from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 551 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 187 from Jammu Division and 364 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 01,594 positive cases, 5,645 are active positive, 94,375 have recovered and 1,574 have died; 531 in Jammu division and 1,043 in Kashmir division. Out of 26, 03,471 test results available, 25, 01,877 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 04,936 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 17,063 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,645 in isolation and 41,773 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 38,881 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 21,154 positive cases, 1,539 active positive, 19,226 recovered, 389 deaths; Baramulla has 6,814 positive cases, 746 active positive, 5,913 recovered, 155 deaths; Budgam has 6,409 positive cases, 319 active positive, 5,995 recovered, 95 deaths; Pulwama has 4,832 positive cases, 126 active positive, 4,622 recovered, 84 deaths; Kupwara has 4,779 positive cases, 446 active positive, 4,256 recovered, 77 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,406 positive cases, 226 active positive, 4,105 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,216 positive cases, 172 active positive, 3,996 recovered, 48 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,896 positive cases, 308 active positive, 3,552 recovered, 36 deaths; Kulgam has 2,543 positive cases, 81 active positive, 2,414 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,273 positive cases, 88 active positive, 2,149 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 18,844 positive cases, 608 active positive, 17,960 recovered, 276 deaths; Rajouri has 3,301 positive cases, 97 active positive, 3,156 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 2,960 positive cases, 227 active positive, 2,698 recovered, 35 deaths; Doda has 2,780 positive cases, 107 active positive, 2,623 recovered, 50 deaths; Kathua has 2,578 positive cases, 72 active positive, 2,473 recovered, 33 deaths. “Poonch has 2,335 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,233 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,254 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2149 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,136 positive cases, 159 active positive, 1,961 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,727 positive cases, 82 active positive, 1,627 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,357 positive cases, 82 active positive, 1267 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 01,594 positive cases in J&K, 10,213 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
