Jammu, Nov 13: On the eve of Vishwakarma Day, which is on Nov 15, Shree Vishwakarma Library and Research Centre (SVLARC), New Plot, Jammu unveiled to display in its main Hall , twenty number of portraits of the prominent personalities of the community who have given distinguished services to the community. Ramesh Angotra, Convenor of the Library said that displaying of portraits of ancestors is our prime duty and a real tribute to them. The new generation should know their forefathers who sacrificed their lives for the welfare of community. The Portraits will inspire visitors, especially youngsters for social work. He termed this activity as first of its kind in the history of Vishwakarma Samaaj of J&K. He appealed the community members to support the Library for future plans. Those whose portrait was unveiled are Vidya Sagar Dheman (1932 - 2011), Sanji Ram Dhiman(1921-1991), Sain Dass ( Dalmotra), ( 1913- 1995), Comrade Hari Chand, ( 1935- 2019), Gian Chand (Chalotra), ( 1936- 2001), Balak Ram ( 1923- 2004), Gopi Nath ( 1925- 2008), Sardar Amar Singh ( 1899- 1989), Mohan Lal Korgotra ( 1939- 1999), Ram Sahai Dhiman ( 1923- 2007), Ram Ditta ( 1917- 2002), Bua Ditta (1900- 1987), Gian Chand Angotra ( 1915- 1999), Amarnath Sabarwal ( 1893- 1975), Des Raj Salgotra ( 1928- 2012), Kartar Singh Charak ( 1928- 1992), Chetan Kumar Dhiman ( 1936- 2016), K .C. Verma (1943- 2012), Capt Mohan Lal (1932-2014), and Prof Baisakhi Ram (1947- 2013). |
