| JKEEGA delegation calls on Rohit Kansal, raises cadre issues | | |

Jammu, Nov 13: A delegation of Jammu and Kashmir Electrical Engineering Graduates Association [JKEEGA] today led by Sachin Tickoo, General Secretary called on Principal Secretary Power Development Department.
The delegation apprised Principal Secretary PDD of the long pending burning issues of the Power Employees fraternity. The delegation informed him about the large number of posts which are lying unfilled in the hierarchy of the Power Development department. It is pertinent to mention that one post of Managing Director to be filled from engineering cadre is lying vacant after retirement of Last incumbent in August 2020, seven vacancies of Chief Engineers, ten posts of Superintending Engineers, 38 posts of Executive Engineers, 103 post of Assistant Ex. Engineers and lot of vacancies of Assistant Engineers are also lying vacant. The members also informed that the regularization of Engineers had been mandated by SAC in its meeting on 22.10.2019 and directed the proposal for regular promotions be processed on fast track at departmental level without referring to Public Service commission as one-time exemption and whole process was supposed to be completed within 02 months by 30.11.2019 (GO No. 191-PDD of 2019 dated 23.10.2019). The process needs to be expedited in order to boost morale of Engineers. The delegation also informed that at present salary of the staff is met out of “Grant-in-Aid” from Government and same is being regulated on advance drawl basis at Secretariat level. |
