Army BDS defuse unexploded shell fired by Pak in Uri sector | | | Early Times Report BARAMULLA, Nov 16: A Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Monday defused an unexploded shell fired by Pakistani troops during ceasefire violation at Line of Control (LoC) in this north Kashmir district, official source said. Panic gripped in Kamalkote area at LoC in Baramulla when some villagers found an unexploded shell near house this morning. Last Friday witnessed heavy shelling from Pakistani troops in Kamalkote and Hajipir sector resulting in death of four civilians and two soldiers injuries to scores of others besides damage to houses. People present in the area were taken to safer place and BDS was summoned. Later, the unexploded shell was defused without any damage, the sources said, adding that security forces are searching to clear the entire border area of any Pak shell. Majority border residents have been shifted to safe zones, including Uri town where they have been accommodated in schools by the administration. |
