SRINAGAR, Nov 16: The union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reported 390 new cases of Corona Virus today following which the total number of positive cases reached 1, 03,009. The death toll due to the virus reached 1,597 since eight deaths took place in the past 24 hours. Srinagar district reported 112 fresh cases of COVID-19 following which Jammu district reported 97 cases, Baramulla district 58 cases, Budgam district 20 cases, Udhampur district 17 cases, Ganderbal district 13 cases, Kupwara and Bandipora districts 11 cases each, Samba district 10 cases, Pulwama and Ramban districts eight cases each, Kathua and Kishtwar districts five cases each, Anantnag district four cases, Kulgam and Doda districts three cases each, Rajouri and Reasi districts two cases each and Poonch district one case. Srinagar and Jammu districts each reported three fresh Corona Virus deaths followed by a death each in Pulwama and Budgam districts in Kashmir valley. So far 1,059 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as in Jammu division the number of such deaths is 538. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 390 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 150 from Jammu division and 240 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 03,009. Also eight COVID-19 deaths have been reported; three from Jammu division and five from Kashmir Division. Moreover, 482 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 152 from Jammu Division and 330 from Kashmir Division. Out of 1, 03,009 positive cases, 5,588 are active positive, 95,824 have recovered and 1,597 have died; 538 in Jammu division and 1,059 in Kashmir division. Out of 26, 60,991 test results available, 25, 57,982 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 7, 15,686 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 24,592 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,588 in isolation and 41,318 in home surveillance. Besides, 6, 42,591 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 21,538 positive cases, 1,523 active positive, 19,616 recovered, 399 deaths; Baramulla has 6,968 positive cases, 671 active positive, 6,140 recovered, 157deaths; Budgam has 6,477 positive cases, 290 active positive, 6090 recovered, 97 deaths; Pulwama has 4,866 positive cases, 126 active positive, 4,655 recovered, 85 deaths; Kupwara has 4,821 positive cases, 438 active positive, 4,305 recovered, 78 deaths. “Anantnag has 4,435 positive cases, 205 active positive, 4,155 recovered, 75 deaths; Bandipora has 4,246 positive cases, 178 active positive, 4,020 recovered, 48 deaths; Ganderbal has 3,954 positive cases, 311 active positive, 3,607 recovered, 36 deaths; Kulgam has 2,552 positive cases, 78 active positive, 2,426 recovered, 48 deaths and Shopian has 2,282 positive cases, 80 active positive, 2,166 recovered, 36 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 19,126 positive cases, 594 active positive, 18,249 recovered, 283 deaths; Rajouri has 3,321 positive cases, 95 active positive, 3,178 recovered, 48 deaths; Udhampur has 3,026 positive cases, 245 active positive, 2,746 recovered, 35 deaths; Doda has 2,816 positive cases, 122 active positive, 2,644 recovered, 50 deaths; Kathua has 2,615 positive cases, 79 active positive, 2,644 recovered, 33 deaths. “Poonch has 2,350 positive cases, 86 active positive, 2,242 recovered, 22 deaths; Samba has 2,284 positive cases, 95 active positive, 2,164 recovered, 25 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,189 positive cases, 163 active positive, 2010 recovered, 16 deaths; Ramban has 1,769 positive cases, 124 active positive, 1,627 recovered, 18 deaths and Reasi has 1,374 positive cases, 85 active positive, 1,281 recovered, eight deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 03,009 positive cases in J&K, 10,337 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
