KATHUA, Nov 17: Thirty two candidates are in fray for phase-I of District Development Council elections and Panchayat By-Polls in Kathua district, the voting for which would be held on November 28, 2020.
According to the District Election Authority, against 47 nominations, 11 candidates withdrew their nominations on the last date of withdrawal i,e November 16, 202, for Phase-1 of DDC, Panchayat By-Elections.
Those who withdrew their nominations, include 4 for DDC seats, 7 for Sarpanch seats. A total of 4 candidates for Panch seats were declared elected unopposed by respective Returning Officers of the Panchayat Halqas. The elected unopposed candidates include 3 candidates for Panch seats of block Bani and 1 candidate for Panch seat in block Duggan.
As per the schedule issued by DEPO Kathua, the voting for Phase-I of DDC, Panchayat Bye-elections would be held on Nov 28, 2020. |
