EARLY TIMES REPORT

RAJOURI, Nov 17: A Dental Assistant of the Health Department in Rajouri district has allegedly been running a private business by remaining absent from his duty and the concerned senior officials despite being informed about it, continuously shielding the delinquent employee by not taking any action against him.
Sources told Early Times that a video has been taken by the local residents alleging that the owner of the shop is a government employee in the Health Department and working as Dental Assistant in one of the hospitals in the district.
“The alleged employee himself runs shop in the market and remains present all the day by escaping his duty with the help of senior officials of the department. Generally it has been observed that he remains present in the shop for around 28 days in a month, which is total violation of service rules, which clearly shows that no government employee can do private business,” they alleged. Although the complaint in this connection has been made to the concerned BMO but he never took action against him as it is believed that the employee is very close to him and enjoying his proximity continues to do private business along with Government duty at the same time, they alleged.
The local residents said that the employee has been withdrawing a huge salary every month without doing any official duty. “Government should take strict action against employees as well as the BMO for sheltering him,” they said.
When Early Times contacted the DDC Rajouri in his connection, he said that already an inquiry is going on against this employee and he also directed the senior officials to investigate the matter to find the involvement of other officials of the health department for giving this employee so much leverage.
