BJP leader threatens voters, candidates; video goes viral | | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 02: Local BJP leader from Kahara while seeking votes for the party candidate has not only abused the opposition party leaders, but has also threatened the voters if they don't cast their votes in favour of the BJP candidate. In a video which has gone viral, Safdar Wani who recently joined BJP after withdrawing his nomination papers from Kahara in favour of local BJP leader is heard saying that "the BJP is in power and even the agencies like Police follow and favour the ruling party." He asks the people to vote for BJP without any fear and threatened the "people off pulling their eyes from their sockets of those who will not vote for the party." He also threatened to "bury the opposition leader under the chair." As soon as the video went viral, the opposition party leaders and non BJP candidates demanded immediate action against this BJP leader who is openly threatening the people to either vote for his party (BJP) or they will face the music through various government agencies. After local political leaders raised fingers over the speech of this BJP leader, he according to the locals was summoned by to nearby police station to explain his position- but no case has been reported against him by the police or by the concern election authorities. Voting for Kahara DDC constituency is scheduled for 10-12-2020. |
