JAMMU, Dec 21: “Now that Government in Jammu and Kashmir has decided to make OPDs functional in all hospitals from January 4 onwards, people should not crowd hospitals and follow all precautionary measures while seeking treatment from doctors. Patience and precaution must go hand in hand to save lives and carry on with routines in order to mitigate sufferings of commoners”. This was stated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri, who said that after March this will be for the first time that OPDs will start functioning to their full capacity. At the same time, we should try to maintain social distancing, wear masks, use sanitiser, avoid crowding and follow all instructions to save lives. Raman Suri added that virus is still in the air and vaccine is yet to reach the masses. It’s just the matter of time. Till then we, as responsible citizens, must not adopt any laxity in maintaining precautions. This is a fact that people are suffering, so fully functional OPDs was need of the hour, but then without a vaccine and with pandemic still prevalent, no one should take any risk. While we need to save our lives, we also need to be extra cautious to protect our families and doctors besides paramedical staff, who are getting exposed to virus every day, said Raman Suri. He asserted that fatigue is taking its toll on people just because many have become careless but this won’t do good in OPDs where hundreds of patients and their attendants are expected to visit every day. |
