Information and Public Relations Deptt at bottom, IT at top | Disposal of public grievances in 2020 | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 29: The report-card of the government departments in disposal of public grievances for the year 2020 has placed ARI and Trainings and Information and Public Relations department among worst performers. However, the Information Technology and Civil Aviation departments have topped the list with 100 percent disposal rate. According to the details available with Early Times number of grievances received by the Information and Public Relations department for the year 2020 remained very low but the disposal rate was quite low, whereas the Revenue, Home and General Administrative department have received the maximum of the complaints but their disposal record is above 60 percent of the total complaints. As per the latest information received from the office of Lieutenant Governor’s Grievance Cell, the 38 government departments received a total of 28813 grivances of which 22850 were disposed of for the year 2020 starting from 1/1/2020 to 10/12/2020. Of the list Information Technology had received 95 grievances, while Civil Aviation had received 7 grievances and the disposal rate was 100 percent. However, the ARI and Training and Information and Public Relations stood at bottom of the lists, with 87 and 39 grievances respectively. The ARI disposed-off only 29 grievances and its disposal off rate was 33 percent and Information and Public Relations had disposed-off 16 complaints and its disposal rate remained 41 percent, putting them among the worst performers. In the list of departments, which have received the highest complaints, the Revenue Department topped the list with a total of 5331 grievances and it disposed-off 4386 grievances and its disposal rate was 82 percent. It is followed by GAD which received 2756 grievances while the Home Department had received 2225 grievances. Both of the departments disposed-off 2487 and 1341 grievances respectively with a disposal rate of 90 and 60 percent respectively. Among the departments, which had received over 1000 grievances include School Education with 1712 grievances while disposed of only 856, Public Works (R&B) 1967 and disposed 1256, Power Department received 1463 and disposed 1107, Housing and Urban Development 1159 and disposed 957, Higher Education 1067 and disposed 931, Health and Medical Education 1565 grievances and disposed 1371, Jal Shakti 1530 and disposed 1453 while DMRRR received 1183 grievances and disposed 1146 in the year 2020. School Education, Cooperatives, Information and Public Relations and ARI and Trainings have shown disposal performance below 50 percent while 15 departments have shown disposal performance above 90 percent. |
