Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 9: Fresh snowfall early Saturday morning coupled with poor visibility again disrupted flight operations at Srinagar International Airport, officials said. This is the second time air traffic at Srinagar airport was disrupted in January this year. On Thursday, air traffic resumed after remaining suspended for four days due to snow and poor visibility. However, there was no response from the authorities of Airport Authority of India (AAI), Srinagar office causing chaos and confusion among the passengers who were scheduled to travel to different parts of the country, including Jammu Saturday. We dialed the telephone number of AAI, Srinagar but there was no response, passengers alleged. Later, we checked the website of the Srinagar International Airport which shows all incoming and outgoing flights to Jammu, Delhi, Chandigarh, Amritsar and Mumbai cancelled. This however, could not be confirmed from AAI office as there was no response to phone calls. There was fresh snowfall early this morning in the Kashmir valley, including Srinagar resulting in slippery road conditions. The runway was under snow and there was poor visibility disrupting flight operation at Srinagar airport, they said. |
