One week faculty development program starts at GDC Chenani

CHENANI, Jan 12: Govt. Degree College, Chenani inaugurated the Day 1 of the One Week Faculty Development Program on ICT Tools & Techniques (12-1-2021 to 18-1-2021). Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College formally welcomed the resource persons and the participants. She opined that the objective behind the organization of the program is to enable the faculty of the College to select and integrate appropriate ICT pedagogy in teaching-Learning processes in Teacher and Learner Directed Learning environment; explore the emerging trends in Open Educational Resources (OER), Learning Management System (LMS) platforms for developing Small Private Open Learning (SPOCs) and Massive Open Online Learning Courses (MOOCs), aspects of Mobile learning. The seven day program shall have expert resource persons from different corners of the country.
The Day started with the first lecture on E-Learning, the resource person for the first session was Dr. Ramesh C. Sharma, Faculty for Instructional Design at Ambedkar University, Delhi. Dr. Sharma is also a visiting faculty at Wawasan Open University, Malaysia, Universidade do Estado da Bahia, UNEB, Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, University of Fiji, Fiji, Director of the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia, New Delhi, Regional Director of Indira Gandhi National Open University, India and Director of Distance Education at University of Guyana, Guyana, South America. He introduced the concept of E-learning and shared some popular Digital Education Tools for Teachers and Learners.
The second session of the day was by Atulpriya Sharma, the leading blogger from Hyderabad of SocialMaharaj fame. A software engineer by profession, Atul discussed the importance and techniques of blog writing in teaching and learning. Analytical and critical thinking are the first ones that come to mind but there are also social and solitary peer interaction combinations as well as exposure and access to highest quality educational content at an increased level, he said.
The program on the first day was conducted by Dr. Nahila Sujad and Dr. Ajaz Ahmed Bhat.
