Citizens' Forum welcomes industrial incentive package | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 12: Citizens' Forum while welcoming the industrial incentive package of Rs 28400 crore feels that the claim of creating 4-5 lakh jobs in the industrial sector is just a figure to please the J&K people. In a statement issued here today, president Citizens' Forum R K Chadha requested LG Manoj Sinha to appoint some technically educated financial experts to understand the deplorable condition of the industrial units in the J&K UT. Industrial units are already running in sick or insipid conditions due to the disturbed conditions of UT and during Corona lockdown out of 55000 units only 5000 units were working and rest all were closed according to figures of Industry Department. Finance Ministry came out to help these units financially through Banks to rehabilitate these units which proved a big joke. The growth of Industrial units in UT is already dismal. From 2013 onwards the increase of industrial unit is almost negligible and so is the employment. Record shows only few thousands of employees increased in these units. How 4-5 lakh jobs will be produced without first rehabilitating the units without infusing great funds is a million dollar question. |
