| Farmers training cum awareness camp held | | |

JAMMU, Jan 13: Department of Horticulture today organized one day farmers training cum awareness camp on the direction of Director Horticulture Jammu, Ram Savak (KAS) and Chief Horticulture Officer Kathua Sushil Kumar Angurana on quality fruit production at Govt. Fruit Plant Nursery Tipri, Bani in which large number of orchardists hailing from the different villages of the zone participated.
On the occasion, Horticulture development officer Bani/Duggan Rakesh Bhagat aware the participants about the various schemes of the department in detail and advised them to come forward to avail the benefits of these schemes.
Technical guidance regarding training and pruning of the temperate fruit plants was provided to the orchardists in the camp by District level Subject Matter Specialists Raghnath Upadhaya and Vishal Magotra.
They also stressed them to go for High Density Plantation and also advised them to come forward for planting fruit crops such as apple, walnut , pear etc in the spring season in general. About 200 apple plants were distributed among the orchardists. |
