Ugly infighting: BJP disowns farmers who support PM Modi on farmers’ bill | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 13: While BJP leadership at national level is trying to rope-in farmers to support farms' bills, J&K unit of the party has brazenly discouraged farmers who are supporting these laws. It is all due to ugly infighting within the party that local leadership has opposed those farmers who dared to come forward in support of the farmers’ laws. On Monday large number farmers in the Marh area of Jammu district organized a massive tractor rally in support of three farm laws enacted by the NDA government headed by BJP. While farmers in different parts of the country have launched an agitation against these laws, farmers of Marh under the leadership of former minister Sukhnandan Choudhary organized a massive rally in support of these laws. Instead of supporting initiatives taken by Sukhnandan Choudhary, BJP leadership disowned these farmers just to appease a particular faction within the party. Reliable sources said that it was all due infighting in the party that BJP has disowned those farmers who were supporting the Union Government at this crucial time. As reported earlier, an impressive tractor rally was taken out by farmers in Marh Assembly Segment today in support of farm bills passed by Parliament last year. Farmers reached Gajansoo from different villages of Marh constituency of Jammu district, on Monday afternoon and held a rally throughout the constituency in support of the New Farm Laws which were recently passed by the Modi led Government at the Centre. The rally was held under the leadership of former Minister, Ex MLA Marh, Sukhnandan Choudhary who is also the chairman of Panchayati Raj Cell of BJP for JKUT. Within hours after the rally, some BJP leaders disowned all the farmers who supported the Union Government especially Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. |
