Two factions of PDP likely to clash, parallel meetings at same time today

Jammu, Jan 14: Two factions of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) are likely to be clashed on Friday as both the warring groups have called meetings of their supporters at the same venue and at same time to control the office of the party.
Reliable sources told The Early Times newly appointed office bearers of the PDP under the leadership of former MLC Surinder Choudhary have called a meeting at party office on Friday at 11 AM.
Rival faction of Surinder Choudhary has also called a meeting of their supporters at the same venue at same time to take control of the party office. This faction is not ready to accept recent appointments made by Surinder Choudhary.
On January 8, Surinder Choudhary removed some office bearers and appointed new office bearers of his choice. The sacked office bearers have been associated with the party since its formation.
As per order issued by Surinder Choudhary Rajeev Kumar (Nittu), Purani Mandi Jammu has been appointed as district president Jammu (urban) while K K Sharma of Kana Chak Jammu was appointed as district president Jammu rural.
Rajat Gupta of Bakshi Nagar has been appointed as vice president of J&K youth wing of PDP. Zulfikar Malik of Sunjwan Jammu as state general secretary and Sachin Bhagat, Dogra Hall Jammu as state secretary of the J&K youth wing of the party.
On the very next day of these appointments, PDP leaders raised a banner of revolt against Surinder Choudhary for removing senior leaders and they shouted slogans against Choudhary. They also wrote a letter to party president Mehbooba Mufti for giving free hand to Surinder Choudhary to humiliate senior leaders.
