All J&K Kissan Union demands separate budget for farming sector | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 30: All J&K Kissan Union in collaboration with Interaction Forum Jammu Province (IFJP) organized a farmers' meet at Babe De Talab (Jhiri) to pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary. The meeting was presided over by Advocate Ashok Sharma President All J&K Kissan Union and former MLA /MLC. Besides local farmers prominent persons of the area also participated . The participants paid rich tributes to the father of the nation, Gandhi ji. Advocate Naresh Sharma stated that Gandhi had said that India resides in villages and emphasized upon farming and cottage industries. Advocate and former Dy Commadant of SSB in his address described farmers as backbone of our country who significantly contributed in the national economy. Capt Lalit Sharma while speaking on life and works of Gandhi said that Gandhi's dream of prosperity of rural India can only be fulfilled if the lot of our farmers is improved. He said farming is a way of life in India and farmers besides giving tough and courageous soldiers to the Army, play a pivotal role in protecting our culture and environment. Advocate Ashok Sharma in his presidential address said that Gandhi taught us the difference between our needs and greed. He described him a great conservationist and messiah of farmers. |
