Following three fresh deaths COVID-19 death toll reaches 1936 in JK, 76 new cases | Positive cases 124449, active positive 761, recovered 121752 | | Jehangir Rashid early times report SRINAGAR, Jan 30: The death toll due to the COVID-19 in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 1,936 as three more people died in the past 24 hours. As 76 new cases of virus were reported today the total number of positive cases reached 1, 24,449. Srinagar district reported 27 new cases of Corona Virus followed by Pulwama district nine cases, Jammu and Poonch districts eight cases each, Ganderbal district five cases, Baramulla and Anantnag districts four cases each, Budgam and Bandipora three districts three cases each and Kupwara, Kulgam, Shopian, Udhampur & Doda districts one case each. Srinagar district in the Kashmir valley reported two virus related deaths while as Jammu district in the Jammu division reported one death. So far 1,215 people have died due to the virus in the Kashmir valley while in Jammu division 721 virus related deaths have occurred up to this date. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 76 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 18 from Jammu division and 58 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 24,449. Also three COVID-19 deaths have been reported; one from Jammu division and two from Kashmir division. Moreover, 135 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 25 from Jammu division and 110 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 24,449 positive cases, 761 are active positive, 1, 21,752 have recovered and 1,936 have died; 721 in Jammu division and 1,215 in Kashmir division. Out of 45, 24,200 test results available, 43, 99,751 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 11, 15,352 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 34,050 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 761 in isolation and 93,121 in home surveillance. Besides, 9, 85,484 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 26,185 positive cases, 225 active positive, 25,504 recovered, 456 deaths; Baramulla has 8,115 positive cases, 45 active positive, 7,896 recovered, 174 deaths; Budgam has 7,766 positive cases, 40 active positive, 7,609 recovered, 117 deaths; Pulwama has 5,719 positive cases, 50 active positive, 5,581 recovered, 88 deaths; Kupwara has 5,658 positive cases, 33 active positive, 5,530 recovered, 95 deaths. "Anantnag has 4,900 positive cases, 57 active positive, 4,758 recovered, 85 deaths; Bandipora has 4,692 positive cases, 25 active positive, 4606 recovered, 61 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,611 positive cases, 47 active positive, 4,518 recovered, 46 deaths; Kulgam has 2,694 positive cases, 24 active positive, 2,616 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,570 positive cases, 25 active positive, 2,506 recovered, 39 deaths," reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 24,957 positive cases, 103 active positive, 24,483 recovered, 371 deaths; Udhampur has 4,201 positive cases, 27 active positive, 4,117 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,868 positive cases, five active positive, 3,808 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,429 positive cases, one active positive, 3,364 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3,254 positive cases, three active positive, 3,199 recovered, 52 deaths. "Samba has 2,830 positive cases, 14 active positive, 2,776 recovered, 40 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,731 positive cases, one active positive, 2,708 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,500 positive cases, 33 active positive, 2,443 recovered, 24 deaths; Ramban has 2,131 positive cases, two active positive, 2,108 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,638 positive cases, one active positive, 1,618 recovered, 15 deaths," reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 24,449 positive cases in J&K, 11,682 have been reported as travelers, The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
