Jammu artists should be promoted to preserve Dogra legacy: Harsh Dev | Remix track of Dogri folk song "Loka Ghadu Chuk Goriye" released | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Jan 30: Praising the initiative of D K Bhaderwahi Films for launching the remix version of Dogri song "Loka Ghadu Chuk Goriye" with big fanfare, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister lauded the collective work of the artists and men behind the lens for preserving the legacy of the Dogri vernacular through entertainment media. The new rendition of the Dogri folk song was released by Singh who was invited as Chief Guest to grace the grandeur function held at Press Club, Jammu today. Addressing the media, Singh said that it was our moral responsibility to preserve and promote Dogri language which showcased rich cultural heritage of Jammu Pradesh. He said that the remix version of the Dogri folk song with enthralling video would surely attract the audience. "The video track exhibits the sweetness of Dogri language besides scenic locations of Jammu which adds extra flavour to the remix version of the song sung by young singer and actor D.K Bhaderwahi", said Harsh. He said that initial composition of the song by Pritam Singh was remixed and released in a modern style by the talented team of artists and professionals. Singh said that it was unfortunate that the young artists of Jammu region having tremendous talent were not encouraged and promoted like the artists hailing from Punjab. He said that if Punjabi films and songs could flourish into an industry earning worldwide reputation and business, Dogri folk songs also have the potential to be promoted globally in a similar way. Gagan Pratap Singh, State Secretary (JKNPP); Parshotam Parihar, State Secretary (Panthers Trade Union) and Surinder Chouhan, District President (Jammu Rural) were also present on the occasion. |
