Sarafa Association felicitates new Chamber team, extends support

JAMMU, Jan 30: Sarafa Association Jammu today called on the newly-elected team of the Chamber of Commerce & Industry (Regd.) Jammu and extended its support to the team in all its future endeavours. The association hailed the election of Arun Gupta as President of CCI Jammu as well as his entire team and hoped that the issues pertaining to traders, businessmen and industrialists will be deliberated upon at a proper platform for their redressal.
Raman Suri chairman of Sarafa Association Jammu alongwith general secretary Vijay Kumar Verma, treasurer Surinder Jain, executive members Deepak Jain, Rakesh Mahajan, Vijay Saraf, Ajay Talla, Sanjay Jain, Darshan Dhalla, Sumit Handa, Rajesh Sawhney and Chaman Khajuria, while congratulating the new team, said that the team has many challenges before it, and the Sarafa Association Jammu will extend all its possible support in order to overcome them and ensure that the Jammu Chamber emerges as a strong and vibrant institution.
Those into jewellery business have a long-time relation with Chamber House and its elected members, which is why the Sarafa Association Jammu will stand by CCI Jammu through the thick and thins.
Raman Suri said, since developmental programmes of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir are directly related to economic activities, it is hoped that the long pending projects of Jammu, which are sure to attract tourists, increase their footfall, encourage pilgrimage and enhance socio-economic development of Jammu, will be taken up with the Government for their early completion.
Projects like Metro Rail, which must connect important points in city and its outskirts, the River View Front, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Project, Parking Slots, Organised Parking Facilities with those manning it wearing uniforms, Automatic Parking Gates, Safe City Roads, Accessibility to Heritage Sites, facilities for Shri Amarnath cave shrine and Mata Vaishno Devi bound pilgrims besides round the clock electricity and other facilities must also be taken up with the Government on priority, Raman Suri said.
He said that the Chamber of Commerce & Industry Jammu led by Arun Gupta must also take up the issues of revamping Kanak Mandi and Ware House as well as constructing dedicated business complexes and IT parks with the Government to decongest the city and provide better facilities to the people for doing business.
Arun Gupta thanked the Sarafa Association Jammu for its warm wishes and for extending its support to the new team. He assured that every possible effort will be made to raise the issues faced by businessmen in Jammu. He also assured that new teams will be formed to look after different sections, so that their problems are resolved efficiently and at the earliest. The issues of GST and other taxations besides toll posts and their functioning will also be discussed with the Government to create an ease of doing business environment, he added.
