Anganwadi workers demand 7 month pending salary | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 7: Anganwadi workers welfare Association affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Anganwadi Karmchari Mahasangh a unit of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sang during press conference held at union office Jammu has decided to hold demonstration on the call given by the Mahasangh in support of long pending demands of aganwadi workers and helpers. The association has appealed to all the Anganwadi workers and helpers to participate in the demonstration being held on 15.2.2021. the association alleged that the wages of Anganwadi workers and helpers has not been paid for 7 months, i.e July 2020 to Jan 2021 even three-month salary from January to March for the year 2019 also has not been paid and state share in the honorarium of workers and helper also has been with held without any justification and from December 2019 to till date has not been paid. Due to this poor and low paid workers are facing financial crises. But J&K Govt least bothered to honour the direction of PM. The aganwadi workers are working as corona warriors and conducting house to house survey and number of other duties is being performed by the Anganwadi workers & helpers. It was also demanded that extra incentives allowance be paid for performing different nature of works. The Association further demandde that Retirement benefits i.e Gratuity leave salary etc be given to the workers. The press conference was addressed by the association president Sawarna Choudhary and general Secretary Neelam Sharma who appealed L.G Manoj Sinha to intervene in the matter and direct the concerned afield to release their pending salary and also accept other demands . |
