JYF flays proposal to enhance retirement age by JK universities | | | Jammu, Feb 19: Slamming JK universities for mooting proposal to enhance retirement age of Professors, Jammu Youth Forum raised objections against university authorities terming the enhancement of retirement age as anti educated youth and favoring the existing old dead woods in universities of Jammu and Kashmir. This was stated by Ajaz Khan President, Jammu Youth Forum in a press conference today expressing his anguish over tendency of University administration to enhance retirement age of Professors from 62 to 65 years instead of laying emphasis to improve quality education and academic standard for the overall interests of students, he rued adding that such a proposal is bound to block the employment of well educated and more talented aspirants and also hindering promotion prospectus of young teachers at lower level in universities. Urging the Lt Governor not to fall into the trap of proposals submitted by Universities of Kashmir and Jammu, he appealed him to take into deep consideration the smoldering resentment of unemployed youth against such anti youth proposals and take judicious decision keeping in mind the overall interests of educated youth still hankering after employment despite having highest qualifications in hand.
