EJAC appeals Government to reconsider enactment of order

Early Times Report

Jammu, Feb 19: Employees Joint Action Committee (EJAC) held a meeting at Jammu to discuss the tough law by virtue of which employees who will be under performing, corruption, or have a tarnished image shall be forcibly retired in a particular age group or a service period. The meeting was chaired by Fayaz Ahmad Shabnum, President EJAC.
Speaking on the occasion Shabnum said that in the present world where concepts like dignity of labour and equal work, equal wages have become the slogan of the masses, this part of the world is experiencing a different scenario, a condition that shall have disastrous and destructive effects on our society.
People, especially the intelligentsia of the society, normally get absorbed in government jobs and hence the foundation of a democracy, with special reference to our mother land, becomes more stronger.
Ganesh Khajuria senior leader EJAC and chairman JKTF proclaimed that it is when the most able minds from the society are hired by the government, the nation progresses not only by leaps and bounds but rather exponentially.
No nation can thrive by suppressing its own working class and by making them feel insecure perpetually.
Toofani, a senior executive member present in the meeting lamented that the recent decision by the government to forcibly retire those employees who have attained either the age of 48 or have served for about 22 years and have a tarnished image or are involved in corruption or even have grown inefficient over the passing year, is being viewed as rather tyrannical and undemocratic, besides being illogical and partial.
Among other who attended the meeting were Muzaffar Ganaie, Tariq Ahmad Sofi, Athar Muzaffar, Mir Fayaz, Farooq Ahmad Bhat, Indra Manhas, Rajinder Singh, Kuldeep Sharma, Manjeet Singh, Surinder Singh, Sunil Sharma, Ishafaq Ahmad Shah and Imtiyaz Ahmad Meer.
