JAMMU, Feb 19: A meeting with Pesticide manufacturers/distributes was held today under the chairmanship of B K Chandan, Director Law Enforcement, J&K State at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo, Jammu. The objective of meeting was to review the timely supply of Quality Plant Protection Chemicals in Jammu Division. Plant Protection Officer, Devinder Sharma, Agriculture Chemist, Surishta Devi, Assistant Director Law Enforcement, Roshan Lal Bhagat, Assistant Agriculture Chemist, P. P. Singh and representatives of the PP Chemical manufacturing units attended the meeting beside distributers of Jammu Division. Director Law Enforcement highlighted the importance of high quality PP Chemicals in agriculture/ horticulture sector and instructed the representatives of manufacturing units of Jammu division to ensure the supply of good quality plant protection material to the farmers. Deliberating on various concerning issues Plant Protection officer Jammu instructed the manufacturers and distributors to ensure timely filing of monthly sale returns as per format and avoid supply of products without quality test reports from the manufacturers. He stressed on display of price lists and to fulfill all other necessary parameters entrusted in Insecticide Act. Later, Director Law Enforcement also chaired a review meeting and took stock of the functioning of Law enforcement Agency of the department. While appraising the chair, Assistant Director Law Enforcement gave out that 743 inspections under insecticide Act has been conducted this year till date besides 589 seed sample and 106 fertilizer samples were drawn from different suppliers during this period. |
