| 'Jiyo Aur Jeene Do' carries plantation drive | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 22: NGO "Jiyo Aur Jeene Do" today organized a camp at Chanor village of Krimchi area in which plantation drive and plant distribution was carried with a motive to create awareness among people towards environment. While giving information about the program the president Tariq Shah said ," We have today organised a camp at Village Chanor and tried to create awareness and a sense of responsibility towards environment among people. A number of plant saplings were distributed among the people and plantation was also carried at many places including Govt Middle School Chanor.
People were made aware about other issues also like hygiene and sanitation and were also told about many aspects related to environment. We also distributed the saplings to all the attendees so that they can plant a number of trees. By this steps were taken to save the environment.
While trees are being cut due to development and construction work, trees are also required to be planted to compensate them. Trees are not only a means of clean air but are also a source of many medicines. Planting trees is the first requirement of today's environment. |
