Srinagar, Feb 23 The Indian Air Force (IAF) will operate four sorties of C-17 aircrafts between Srinagar and Leh and Jammu to Leh on Wednesday. Chief Coordinator, AN-32 Kargil Courier Service, Aamir Ali said that two sorties are planned from Srinagar to Leh. Similarly, two flights of C-17 will operate from Jammu to Leh on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Kargil-bound passengers are requested to contact the concerned Liaison Officer at Kargil House, Bemina Srinagar and Liaison Officer, Kargil House, Bahu Plaza, Jammu. The national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh, remained closed due to accumulation of snow from January 1, 2021. However, the snow clearance operation on the highway has almost been completed and the highway is likely to reopen very soon. Meanwhile, authorities said courier service will continue to operate till the highway is opened. Hundreds of passengers were airlifted from Kargil, Jammu, Srinagar and Chandigrah since the highway was closed since January 1.
