VC forces teaching faculty to be present in function
National Science Day celebrations in JU

Early Times Report
JAMMU, Feb 27: In an effort to keep the chief guest, Dr Jitendra Singh, Union MoS in good humour, the Vice Chancellor (VC) of Jammu University has invented a weird ploy to ensure forced presence of crowd in the program of National Science Day 2021 on Sunday, February 28 in University premises.
Referring to a Circular instructions issued by Registrar at the instance of Vice Chancellor, JU of dated 25.2 21, the sources informed that staff and students from the university will obviously be inquisitive and very keen to attend the function for listening their own son of the soil who is National leader, they pointed out, adding that a simple invitation card/information would have been sufficient enough to garner crowded audience in function instead of issuing circular instructions enjoining upon faculty members to obtain "leave for absence" for not attending the event, which is unheard of and absurd as if the Varsity faculty members are small school children, they flayed.
Forgetting that faculty members of University are virtually his colleagues and an unwarranted act displaying over ambitiousness to ensure their forced presence, sources questioned "does the Vice Chancellor want to show that either he has lost control over his faculty members or very eager to please Chief Guest in an extraordinary manner to extract favour from him for extension of his VC term, which is expiring in a few months, they added.
Slamming the VC for creating favorable situation at the venue by ordering forced presence in the event , the sources pointed out that VC is perhaps trying to create poor impression about Dr Jitendra Singh and his towering personality being a local national leader from Jammu, who is the man of masses and carries huge spontaneous acceptability as a leader amongst of people here, they clamored, saying that a popular son of the soil does not need forced audience when people pine to listen him themselves of their own, for which the VC seems to be ignorant of being a local person , they rued.
Exposing the hypocritical attitude of Vice Chancellor, the sources informed that at the fag end of his tenure coming to close fast, VC is frantically trying to extract undue favour from Dr Jitendra Singh for his term extension, they added saying that ever since 2018, the incumbent VC kept yawning distance from Dr Singh falsely complaining about interference of the former in his functioning by the latter (MOS) in the contractual and permanent recruitment in the University, they added.
Flaying the Vice Chancellor to cite any such instant whereby leave to be sought by the faculty members for remaining absent from the event, the sources said saying further that University shall not be able to pull out any such order from its dead files, they said.
