GDC launches awareness campaign | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 20: The NSS unit ‘Prayatna’ of Government Degree College (GDC), Chenani launched a COVID-19 vaccination awareness campaign. The NSS team visited the area in and around the village Batna, Tehsil Chenani and interacted with the local residents. The campaign intended to take the message of vaccination plan and COVID appropriate behaviour around the region with the aim to take the government's communication to people's doorsteps. The NSS Program Officer, Prof. Sunil Kumar accompanied by Prof. Hafeez Mir and Prof. Sajad Ahmed visited the area along with the NSS volunteers to address the vaccine apprehension that may arise amongst general public because of concerns around vaccine safety, efficacy; and any other myths and misconceptions. Dr. Pragya Khanna, Principal of the College opined that such communication approach will further steer the spirit of the Prime Minister of India through Jan Andolan or people’s movement so that the citizens feel confident to engage and participate in the vaccination process. She further stressed that COVID Appropriate Behaviours (CAB) must be followed not just during and after vaccination but even otherwise, and also by the people not getting the vaccination in the initial phases.
