Solve public problems: Munish Gupta urges Govt | ‘Residents of Green Avenue Digiana Lane no. 2 deprived of basic amenities’ | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 20: Taking strong note of problems being faced by the residents of Green Avenue Digiana Lane no.2, Munish Gupta, Editor in Chief, Early Times has asked the administration to step in to mitigate their sufferings. Expressing dismay over the issues confronting the people of Gandhi Nagar constituency, Munish said, “Many areas of this constituency apparently have no caretaker. Despite being part of a smart city project, basic amenities are nowhere in the sight.” “Despite repeated reminders the helmsmen have not taken any step to solve problems of the people. The residents of Green Avenue Digiana Lane No. 2 are facing many issues. The roads in the area are in shambles and these need to be improved so that people feel the difference,” he said. Residents while talking to Early Times said that the construction work which had started in the area should be completed at the earliest. “The delay in this regard will compound the problems of the denizens,” they said. They said that the municipal authorities have failed them as the garbage remains unattended for days together. “The unattended garbage gets scattered and chokes the drains, thus creating yet another problem for the people,” they added. “Foul smell emanating from the open drains has made our lives miserable. This issue needs to be resolved at the earliest,” the residents said. They said that the roads need to be properly developed so that there is no dust during the summer season. “Many health related issues in the area are due to the dust,” the residents added. Munish Gupta said that the residents are not only entitled to basic amenities but to other things also. He said that swift action is needed and the government should expedite the process of mitigating the sufferings of the people.
