New Delhi, Mar 20: LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation (LICGJF) working for community development has provided tempo traveller vehicle for transporting thalassemia patients to “Thalassemics India”. Thalassemics India is a pioneer organization working for thalassemics since 1987. The fully equipped vehicle was inaugurated by Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India on 20.03.2021 in an event organized at Red Cross Society Headquarters. D.K. Bhagat, Zonal Manager, LIC of India, Northern Zone, along-with other officials of LIC was present on the occasion. The objective of the LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation are relief of poverty or distress, advancement of education, medical relief and provision for any other object of general public utility. The Foundation has supported projects ranging from construction of hospitals, school buildings and classrooms, libraries, computer centres, old age homes, hostel buildings for children in tribal areas, vocational training centres for differently abled persons, empowerment of women for livelihood generation etc. so as to provide infrastructural facilities to needy persons in different pockets of the country.
