New excise policy will snatch employment of local youths: Salathia | ‘Govt is making City of temple as City of wine shops’ | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 20: Terming new excise policy another attempt to make local youths jobless, PDP District President Harmesh Salathia said that the Centre government wants to make City of Temple as City of Wine Shops, by calling e-tenders for the resources once guaranteed for local unemployed youths. Addressing a press conference here today Salathia said it was very shameful that the government is providing opportunities to outsiders at the cost of local unemployed youths of J&K. “Presently, the wine shops in J&K are providing jobs to at least 1500 youths, but unfortunately, from next financial years, April 2021, they all will become jobless and outsider will exploit the resources once guaranteed for local youths”, he said, adding that anti-youth policies should not be acceptable to anyone. “Instead of snatching away the little bit opportunities the J&K youth had, you should fulfil promises made in 2014 and 2019. Since we have very few opportunities for local youth, there should be a complete ban for outsiders”, he added. He said that the new excise Policy would change nomenclature from City of Temple to City of Wine Shops. “Earlier, tourists come here to visit the city of temple, though they will visit in future as well but, this city will certainly become a city of Wine Shops too for a particular company”, he added. |
