Early Times Report VIJAYPUR, Mar 31: Provincial President Apni Party Jammu, Manjit Singh today remembered Operation Parakram martyr Sopey Vipan Kumar who laid down his life to foil a militant attack. In a statement to the press, a programme to honour the martyr Vipan Kumar was organized at village Radma in Ramgarh in which large number of people participated. On this occasion, Manjit Singh, former minister, garlanded the statue of the martyr Sopey Vipan Kumar fought bravely against the militants in a deadly attack on Historic Raghunath Temple in 2002. "Kumar has become role model of the village youth. These youth are the future of the country," said Manjit Singh while speaking on the occasion. Manjit Singh said that the society should not forget the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the safety and security of the people. "Apni Party believes that we should unite people to make the nation stronger. If we fight with each other, we will become weak. These martyrs teach us to remain united and strong," he said when he offered his tributes to the martyred soldier. Speaking on the 19th anniversary of the martyr, the Former Minister said that India has uniqueness among the world countries and plural cultural heritage which should be preserved and kept intact. He appealed the youth to follow the footsteps of the martyrs. |
