SRINAGAR, Mar 31: There is no let up in Corona Virus cases and deaths in Jammu & Kashmir as 373 new cases were reported in past 24 hours with four people falling prey to the virus during the same period of time. The total number of positive cases reached 1, 30,960 with death toll reaching 1,994. Srinagar district reported 159 fresh cases including 44 travelers followed by Baramulla district 63 cases, Jammu district 45 cases, Budgam district 26 cases, Kulgam district 12 cases, Kupwara and Kathua districts 11 cases each, Udhampur district nine cases, Anantnag and Ganderbal districts eight cases each, Bandipora district seven cases, Pulwama district five cases, Samba and Poonch districts three cases each, Rajouri district two cases and Shopian district one case. While two deaths were reported from Baramulla district one death each was reported from Srinagar and Poonch districts. The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 373 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 73 from Jammu division and 300 from Kashmir division, have been reported today, thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 30,960. Also four COVID-19 deaths have been reported, one from Jammu division and three from Kashmir division. Moreover, 131 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 26 from Jammu division and 105 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 30,960 positive cases, 2,531 are active positive, 1, 26,435 have recovered and 1,994 have died; 736 in Jammu division and 1,258 in Kashmir division. Out of 60, 51,587 test results available, 59, 20,627 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 15, 07,692 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 29,291 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 2,531 in isolation and 1, 22,508 in home surveillance. Besides, 13, 51,368 persons have completed their surveillance period. The bulletin said that Srinagar has 29,062 positive cases, 1,051 active positive, 27,539 recovered, 472 deaths; Baramulla has 8,848 positive cases, 349 active positive, 8,319 recovered, 180 deaths; Budgam has 8,208 positive cases, 162 active positive, 7,926 recovered, 120 deaths; Pulwama has 5,992 positive cases, 82 active positive, 5,818 recovered, 92 deaths; Kupwara has 5,807 positive cases, 70 active positive, 5,640 recovered, 97 deaths. “Anantnag has 5,175 positive cases, 39 active positive, 5,042 recovered, 94 deaths; Bandipora has 4,763 positive cases, 29 active positive, 4672 recovered, 62 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,717 positive cases, 23 active positive, 4,647 recovered, 47 deaths; Kulgam has 2,799 positive cases, 23 active positive, 2,703 recovered, 54 deaths and Shopian has 2,648 positive cases, 23 active positive, 2,585 recovered, 40 deaths,” reads the bulletin. The bulletin said that Jammu has 25,912 positive cases, 484 active positive, 25,047 recovered, 381 deaths; Udhampur has 4,361 positive cases, 27 active positive, 4,277 recovered, 57 deaths; Rajouri has 3,895 positive cases, 13 active positive, 3,827 recovered, 55 deaths; Doda has 3,455 positive cases, five active positive, 3,386 recovered, 64 deaths; Kathua has 3329 positive cases, 49 active positive, 3,227 recovered, 53 deaths. “Samba has 2,861 positive cases, 18 active positive, 2,802 recovered, 41 deaths; Kishtwar has 2,756 positive cases, 17 active positive, 2,717 recovered, 22 deaths; Poonch has 2,548 positive cases, 20 active positive, 2,502 recovered, 26 deaths; Ramban has 2159 positive cases, 21 active positive, 2,117 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,665 positive cases, seven active positive, 1,642 recovered, 16 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 30,960 positive cases in J&K, 13,379 have been reported as travelers. The bulletin has informed the people that the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory. |
