HC seeks personal appearance of VC LAWDA | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Mar 31: In the much publicized Public Interest Litigation on protections and restoration of Dal lake to its original position, A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir High Court comprising Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal and Justice Vinod Chaterji Koul directed Vice Chairman of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) to present himself and to apprise the court as to how the Development Authority proposes to tackle the cleanness of the Dal Lake and other related issues. When the PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed that on the intervention of Advocate General, directed to put up this matter tomorrow again so as to enable the Vice Chairman of the Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) to present himself and to apprise the court as to how the Development Authority proposes to tackle the cleanness of the Dal Lake and other related issues. In respect of all pending applications, Division Bench directed the counsel filing the applications to serve the copies of those applications to the office of the Advocate General and the learned amicus curiae. On such service, the amicus curiae as well as the office of the Advocate General would file response to all those applications and the same would be taken up serially as and when they are pressed for disposal. DB also directed Registry to prepare the list of all the miscellaneous applications on which pleadings have been exchanged so that they may be considered on top priority. (JNF) |
