Chenani, Apr 1: Govt. Degree college, Chenani under the Community Awareness Program of its NSS Unit ‘Prayatna’ organised one day National webinar on ‘Prevention and Treatment of Heart Attack’ in association with the Jamwal Group of Educational Institutions, Jammu, Global Helping Hand members ,Vishwa Bharati School, Udheywala, Jammu, Svadhaya Educations and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Katra, Jammu. The event was held under the patronage of the Principal of the College, Dr. Pragya Khanna. Dr. Nikhil Mahajan, Consultant, Cardiology, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super-speciality Hospital, Katra was the resource person in the event. Dr. Nikhil gave a detailed presentation on acute myocardial infarction which is the leading cause of death with the prevalence approaching three million people worldwide. He discussed at length the non-modifiable risk factors and modifiable risk factors responsible for the cause of acute myocardial infarction. He stated echocardiography plays critical role in the early diagnosis and management of the patient and to the aid of the physician and technologist. Er. Kiran Wattal, Former Municipal Commissioner, Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The programme was also attended by social activist Mr. Jatinder Kaw, Prof. Anoop Kumar Srivastav, Mr. Mukesh Yogi, Co-founder and Manager of Svadhaya Educations and Dr. Parneesh Mahajan, Chairman, Mount Litera Zee School, Bohri Jammu.
