Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Apr 1: There is no flood threat now in border area of Tulail in north Kashmir district of Bandipora where an avalanche had stopped water flow in river Kishanganga forcing authorities to sound an alert. Official sources said that snow avalanche had blocked one of the tributary of Kishanganga river at village Gujran in tehsil Tulail in border area Gurez, which is surrounded by Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK) from three sides. Population downstream was alerted to remain away from the river. The district and sub divisional administration with Army and police closely monitored the situation, they said. However, the water finally discharged from the river and situation has become normal now, they added. The water in the Kishanganga finally enter PoK where it is called the Neelam river. |
