| Poonch Police launch drive against vehicles having non-JK registration | | | Early Times Reports
Poonch, Apr 4: Taking strict action against the vehicles having non-JK registration today launched drive and challaned many vehicles and issued warning to others for changing registration with Jammu and Kashmir Transport. The police as well as the traffic police jointly laid down nakas at several points in the Poonch and stopped the vehicles having non-JK registration including Maharashtra, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Himachal Pradesh.
In Poonch city, the drive was carried out under the supervision of the concerned SHO and took action against many vehicles having registration numbers of other states. While talking to Early Times, the SHO Poonch said that there is the direction from IGP Jammu to launch a crackdown against the non-JK registration.
It has been observed that these vehicles are often used in crimes and drug trafficking is also done from these vehicles in far off areas, he added. He appealed to the general public, having vehicles with registration from other states
