Early Times Report

Jammu, Apr 8: With deadly Coronavirus has once engulfed the whole Union Territory (UT) of J&K, the BJP leadership appeared to be more worried over forming government than protecting lives of the people.
Violating directions of the authorities to avoid gathering after surge in the positive cases, BJP continued to hold meetings and functions as part of the preparations of the party for next assembly elections.
BJP leaders and workers are posing series of threats to the society as whole by holding one after another gathering in different parts of the UT.
On Thursday when J&K recorded the highest 835 cases, BJP held a gathering at Kishtwar which was attended by all Shakti Kendra Pramukhs and booth presidents. As per official handout issued by the party, all senior leaders including Ravinder Raina, Ashok Koul, Sunil Sharma and Munish Sharma especially attended the gathering.
In the function, Raina was more concerned about the next assembly elections as he claimed that the BJP will form the next government in J&K and the chief minister will be from BJP.
As per picture released by the party through its official media platform, most of the participants in the meeting were without masks because they wanted to show their faces to the leaders, who came all the way from Jammu to attend the function.
The hall in which the function was held was jam-packed and social distancing was not maintained. BJP leaders appreciated cadre for showing discipline during lockdown but failed to give further directions how to deal with emerging dangerous situations after a spike in the cases.
Most of participants are without mask during a function of BJP at Kishtwar.
